Lisa was one of 20 emerging filmmakers from around the world to receive a grant from the French government to attend the Cannes Film Festival in 2007, and premiere her first documentary, Bikini Kansho. Lisa also collaborated on the documentary feature The Gate, narrated by Martin Sheen and distributed theatrically in Japan.
Lisa has photographed for broadcast television and print, acting as, for example, the still photographer for several of Actual Films‘ segments of Make TV(episodes 4, 5, 8 and 9), which aired nationally on PBS in 2009. She assisted on National Geographic’s Inside Guantanamo, and has experience teaching movie making to young children in a bilingual environment.
Lisa graduated with honors from North Carolina State University, and later studied film at Duke University’s Center for Documentary Studies.
